Spotify Premium offers ad-free music and offline downloads, but at ₹119-199/month, it's not always worth it. Here's how to cancel and switch to the free tier while keeping all your playlists.
You can only cancel Spotify through the website, not the mobile app. You'll also keep Premium access until your billing period ends.
How to Cancel Spotify Premium
- 1Go to spotify.com/account and sign in
- 2Scroll down to 'Your plan'
- 3Click 'Change plan'
- 4Scroll down and click 'Cancel Premium'
- 5Click through the confirmation screens
What You Keep After Cancelling
- All your playlists (they don't get deleted)
- Your followed artists and albums
- Your listening history
- Your account and login
What You Lose
- Ad-free listening (ads will play between songs)
- Offline downloads (downloaded songs won't work)
- Unlimited skips (limited to 6 per hour)
- High quality audio
If you're on a family or student plan, only the plan owner can cancel. Family members will need to be removed first.
